Born and raised in southern Louisiana, Chef Chris, as he’s affectionately known, has been in the area for over twenty years. He started cooking out of necessity, but grew to truly enjoy cooking. It was always part of life in the South, spending time in the kitchen with his mother, father or favorite teacher, his Mema; her cooking came from the heart. “It wasn’t that she cooked anything exotic, gumbo, étouffée, jambalaya, it was that she did it with love. And it showed!”
Chris decided to attend culinary school and has not looked back. He combines his extensive knowledge and love of South Louisiana cuisine with influences from around the globe. “Being from the South, food was a way of life. You don’t eat to live, you live to eat! My passion for food pushed me into my current career”.
He’s owned a retail kitchen store, coffee shop, cafe and catered extensively throughout the area. Now he’s going to focus his talents on creating a menu that combines traditional pub fare, eastern Kentucky and southern Louisiana. “I’ll be sourcing local growers, producers and sprinkling in products produced by both Dueling Barrels and the Lexington Brewing Company. I want people to step out of their comfort zone and try something new!”
